My first experience with Amy Miller’s gift was quite surprising. I’d never worked with an animal communicator before, so my expectations were that it would be something like I’d seen on The Pet Psychic; I would explain a problem or concern and Amy would talk to the animal about it.

However, upon Amy’s initial visit to my farm I was in for an awakening about animal communication. Since I have so many animals, Amy was going to do a visit and see what developed. It would have been unrealistic for her to converse with all 27 equines, 2 goats, 4 dogs, 12 cats and one rooster in a single session.

I was doing my chores when Amy arrived. She said it would be fine with her if I finished my chores while she just looked around. I returned to the barn. A few minutes later, Amy called me. I found her outside the barn, looking at my herd of 10 horses in the back pasture, which begins about 200 feet behind the barn and extends outward from there. Since it really didn’t look like Amy was doing anything, I inquired, “What’s up?”

“That horse right there, the reddish one,” Amy pointed.
I followed her focus to my horse, Rose. “Yes?”
Amy responded matter of factly, “She has a special connection to you and would rather be with you than the other horses.”

I nearly fell over. Rose was out there grazing among her herd mates and didn’t even seem to notice we were around. Of all the equines on the property, Rose has been my Parelli levels partner for the past 15 years! She and I have been through thick and thin, confusion and accomplishment, with the goal of developing a great horse-human relationship.

While I am very proud of our partnership, I really had no idea just how Rose felt and how eager she had been to share that with Amy and me. I am not easily moved to tears, but I must admit I got a little misty.
